Before I was a lawyer, I thought about insurance premiums and insurance benefits just about never. I get that.
But there are some things going on right now in Alberta that you probably should think about. The Alberta government is no longer going to cap the premium increases that Albertans have to pay. This is a big win for the insurance companies. The insurance companies are now lobbying the government to broaden the Minor Injury cap. If you think this is okay, you or someone close to you probably hasn't been injured. If you do get injured, especially in a motor vehicle accident, this would mean you are less likely to be able to get fair compensation. But, you will get to pay higher premiums. To find out more, the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association has a website on this topic. Comments are closed.
