The 1 Key Thing You Should Do BEFORE You Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer

Google search the firm name and the lawyer.

What to look for:

1. You should know who the lawyer is who is going to represent you. Check reviews and check news articles. Check the reputation of the lawyer you are thinking of hiring.
2. You should consider if you want to have a lawyer from a different province or one who lives near you.  Be careful.  Just because a lawyer claims to be a "Calgary Personal Injury Lawyer" doesn't mean they don't live in, say, Toronto.
3. Do you want a lawyer who follows the rules? Be cautious if the law firm is advertising "Big Settlements" or "Millions" in settlements or prior claims or if the the law firm is advertising they're the "Best Personal Injury Lawyers" or that they're "Aggressive". Marketing like that may be against the Code of Conduct.
